DIY Reusable Snack Bags

A few nights ago, one of my daughters approached me about a school project she was working on. Her teacher challenged their class to come up with ways how to take care of the environment. She was telling me she wanted to do away with single-use plastics. She said that she has seen how plastic is filling up our seas and killing marine life.

As a mother, I’m extremely proud of how aware she is of what’s happening around her. To show support, I gladly asked what her game plan is. She said that, instead of using a plastic bag for her snacks, she’d rather use reusable ones. When she asked me to make a prototype, I gladly agreed. She handed me a pattern and I worked on it.

The reusable snack bag was such a hit that I ended up making several dozen. She gave them away to her classmates and teachers. This is such a cool way to pack dry snacks. Best of all, the bags are eco-friendly. You can munch on your snacks while on the go minus the guilt.
